FPA celebrated the launch event of its Professional Fencing League in the heart of Milan. An exclusive evening with the participation of National Champions, Olympic Athletes, and Business professionals from around the world.
Milan, 21st July 2021 – Hosted with Crédit Agricole’s in “Le Village” in the center of Milan, the event showcased the concepts behind the FPA World Fencing Series Circuit a: to support Fencing in its current and future forms, for it to reach the highest pick of visibility and get the recognition as the new leading voice in Professional Sports.
Fencing – the new sports sensation
Throughout the evening, Fencing was the center of attention, starting with a friendly match that involved professional athletes such as Matteo Tagliariol, Gold Medalist at the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008, Elisa Vardaro, National Champion and member of the Italian Fencing Team, and many more. The match involved 4 teams, with a pool segment with direct eliminations and then the main draw event for the finals. The interaction of the audience was fundamental to determine the victory of the leading team and to establish a firm engagement during the match.
Fencing as a platform for networking
It was also introduced a specific segment of networking alongside high-level fencers. The interaction between athletes and an audience outside the Fencing World was an interesting match that led to a better understanding of the discipline of Fencing but most especially an excuse for the guests to get to know the athletes and the guest. One-to-one conversations were initiated by our professional athletes with individuals and premium members of the FPA Community, and this became tangible proof of our vision: the possibility to create a relevant social ecosystem through Fencing.
Brands under the Spotlight
The evening continued with exclusive experience areas promoted by international brands (as in Porsche, Falconeri and many others) with a relevant presence in Milan. With the support of our partners, six areas were installed around the location of the event. Four corners have been reserved to sponsors, all of them united by the fundamental pillars of fencing :”Timing and Speed”. Finally meet&greet and another areas were setup for the pure experience of the sport, with individual lessons with the FPA athletes.
